Auntie-on-Call

Woke up at 7 AM to my SIL in a mild panic. Nanny called in sick last minute and her and my brother were literally at the door. By 7:30 I was across town to sit the little one. Having had little sleep over the week-end, I had planned a mini-sleep in today. So much for that…
Little one and I did some art, so reading, some fine motor skills play. We snacked, he snoozed and by 2:30 I was back in a can heading home…only to be called again at 6 being asked to come back. Nanny called in again for tomorrow, so now I’m sleeping in their basement to save on cab fare in the morning. I’m so thankful for the time to spend with my nephew and for the immense trust my brother and SIL have in me, but gawdamit! I need to get some work done STAT.
