One Of These Things…

Every single person I know who has seen Black Swan has loved it, or at the very least thought it was worthy of deep analysis and thought. Is there something wrong with me? Did i just not get it? Whatever it is, I just didn’t take to it.

I Gotta Choose? (HM)

Today was a keeper, a duplicator even.

It started with a business meeting that went exceedingly well and resulted with me receiving a clearer mandate, more hours and higher pay. Then, after being dropped of by my client at a cafe I like to work at I proceeded to get a serious little chunk of work done while nibbling on a grilled cheese sandwich (homemade multi-grain bread, mozzarella and fresh pesto) and sipping lemon & ginger tea.

I know that right about now your are wondering how my day could have gotten any better, but wait – theres more. Call now and I’ll through in a lovely and unexpected mid-day IM session with my new as-of-yet-unmet friend and a 5a7 with the ladies from my old work.

BUT THATS NOT ALL!

In addition, I came home and treated myself to a pot of tea and fresh chocolate chip cookies while watching a movie* in bed.

Oh Joy! Oh Bliss!

The only thing missing was my yoga practice. I’ll get that in tomorrow.

* I watched the 1982 documentary called Chicken Ranch. Its shot at, what has been made famous as ‘The best little whorehouse in Texas’. Its an odd piece and in addition to all the progressive, feminist, pro-sex politics I wrestled with while watching it, my baser instinct was to say “Damn you Pretty Woman, you LIED!”

Two Girls and a Guy. Not nearly as hollow, overtly sexual or fluffy as the title may suggest. Also, in direct negation of that last comment it has a very erotic, if not all to brief sex scene. hawt. On a more cerebral level it explores very interestingly the nature if trust, love, desire and the ever overly-used term ‘the human condition’. I’d love your thoughts if you have seen it.
